Living room decluttering and organisation in London

Do you miss having somewhere you can simply sit down and relax?

Perhaps the sofa has things piled on it, the coffee table has vanished underneath paperwork and the cupboards are so full that putting anything away has become impossible.

Maybe you worry when somebody says they are coming round because the first thing you think is, “I need to tidy the living room.”

I can help you clear the clutter and make your living room somewhere you actually enjoy spending time again.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Sofas or chairs are being used for storage instead of sitting
  • Tabletops quickly disappear beneath everyday clutter
  • Bookshelves and cupboards are overflowing
  • You feel anxious when friends or family want to visit
  • You cannot relax properly because the mess is always there in front of you

How I can help

Your living room does not need to look like a show home.

It needs to work for the way you live.

We can sort through what has accumulated, return things to where they belong and create sensible homes for the things you genuinely use in the room.

I can help clear sofas and chairs, organise bookshelves and cupboards and get tabletops back so you can eat, relax, welcome visitors or just sit down at the end of the day.

No judgement and no unrealistic rules.

What we can sort together

  • Sofas, chairs and surrounding clutter
  • Coffee and dining tables
  • Books and magazines
  • Shelves and bookcases
  • Living room cupboards and drawers
  • Children’s toys and games
  • Paperwork
  • Cables, chargers and electronics
  • Decorative items
  • Items that belong in other rooms
  • Donations and recycling
  • Storage for belongings you want to keep

What to expect during a session

We will first look at what is causing the biggest problem.

That might be one overflowing cupboard or it might be that the whole room has gradually become difficult to use.

We will sort things into groups, decide what stays in the room and find appropriate homes for it.

Anything that belongs elsewhere can be moved to the right place rather than simply being put into another pile.

The goal is a room that feels calmer and is easier for you to keep on top of.

How many sessions might you need?

Some living rooms can be transformed with one focused session.

If there is a large amount to sort or other areas of the home are contributing to the clutter, several visits may work better.

We can take it at a pace that suits you.

A few practical things to know

Do not tidy up for me before I come.

It is helpful for me to see where things normally accumulate because that tells us something about why the clutter keeps coming back.

The aim is not just to clear everything for one day. We want to make the room easier for you to manage afterwards.

FAQs

Will my living room stay tidy afterwards?

I cannot promise that clutter will never appear again, because people actually live in their homes. What I can do is help create sensible systems that make it much easier to put things away.

Can you help organise children's toys in the living room?

Yes, we can look at what is being used, what can go and how to store the things that stay.

What if things from every other room have ended up in the living room?

That is fine. We will work out what actually belongs there and find suitable homes for the rest.

I'm embarrassed about the mess. Is that normal?

Very. But you do not need to be embarrassed with me. I am there because you want help, not because I expect your home to be tidy already.

How much does living room decluttering cost?

Get in touch and tell me a little about the room. I can then explain my current session options and pricing.
